Michael was born in Northern Virginia in 1981 and currently lives between there and NY City. He never leaves home without a camera,
ranging from his 35mm Leica all the way up to his 8x10 View Camera. Michael's time is mostly spent with friends, who are the frequent subjects
of his work, or in his kitchen/darkroom that he can only safely print in at night, due to window light leaks. The relationships that Barolet
has with his subjects is evident from first glance at his portraits, and his technical skills impress as well. Michael is always challenging himself,
experimenting and trying to get to a higher level in his Artwork. Some influence of Jock Sturges, Sally Mann and Emmet Gowin might be noticed in Barolet's
work, but he has truly made his Photographs his own. He finds inspiration everywhere, and hopes that his passion is felt by all that see his images.
